HOLLYWOOD — Police detectives are investigating anti-LGBT vandalism that was spray painted Thursday on the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

A police report was filed with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Station, and the Center is working with its security company to obtain surveillance footage that would be given to the police, Center spokesman Jim Key said.

“We believe (the footage) will have captured images of the suspects,” he said.

Employees and volunteers at the Center’s The Village at Ed Gould Plaza  discovered the graffiti when they arrived at the Center Friday morning. The phrases  “Fuck TRANNies” and “Fuck ALL YALL” were written across one of the outside walls that face McCadden Place.

Center staff painted over the vandalism by 11:30 a.m., according to a statement.

Center officials suspect the incident occurred between 9 and 10 p.m. Thursday night, Jackie DeFede, the Center’s director of facilities, said in the statement.

“We had a security officer on duty, but he was patrolling other areas of the building,” DeFede said.
