LONG BEACH — Eagle 562, the Long Beach Levi-leather bar, will open May 26, the bar announced today on its website.

Eagle 562 (not affiliated with the Eagle LA or any other Eagle bar) has been under construction since late last year and will open at the site of the former Pistons in North Long Beach, which — after 51 years — closed April 17, 2016.

Eagle 562 is owned by Michael Barber, who purchased the bar last summer and also owns The Falcon bar and Paradise Bar and Restaurant, two venerable gay establishments along Long Beach’s Broadway Corridor.

Assistant manager Robert Rios told Q Voice News earlier this year that the bar “will be raunchy, cruisey and seedy. It will be a destination bar. It will be worth the drive from L.A., Orange County or San Diego.”
