‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ first trailer: Watch Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury

Viewers see a silhouetto of iconic Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in a teaser trailer for “Bohemian Rhapsody” that 20th Century Fox released this morning.

Emmy-winning “Mr. Robot” star Rami Malek stars as Mercury.

Viewers also see glam outfits, the genesis of the operatic smash hit “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and Mercury strutting his stuff.

Oh yes. And there’s also lots of Queen’s anthem music.

First look – Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in Queen film ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

One glaring omission from the trailer is any reference to Mercury’s bisexuality. Hopefully that part of his life will be addressed in subsequent sneak previews.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” follows Queen from 1970 when Mercury teamed with Brian May and Roger Taylor to the band’s performance at Live Aid in 1985. Mercury died six years later from AIDS complications. He was 45.

May and Taylor are the film’s music producers.

With songs like “Another Bites the Dust,” “We Are the Champions,” “Best Friend,” We Will Rock You,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” among others, the chart-topping arena rock band has sold between 150 and 300 million records, making Queen one of world’s best selling artists.

Queen was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” will be released in theaters November 2.
