Depeche Mode will release their first single on Friday from the band’s upcoming 14th studio CD, “Spirit,” Columbia records said in a statement Wednesday.

“Where’s the Revolution” — the band’s first new music in four years — was teased by the pioneering synth-rockers (Dave Gahan, Andy Fletcher and Martin Gore) during an October press conference in Milan, Italy.
Depeche Mode will embark on a world tour to promote the disc. The first leg of the tour will begin May 5 in Stockholm, Sweden, and end July 23 in Romania. In all, Depeche Mode will play in front of more than 1.5 million fans in 34 cities in 21 European countries.
North and South American dates will begin shortly thereafter, but the dates have not yet been announced.
In November, Depeche Mode released a DVD collection of its music videos.
